Join La`i`opua 2020 and the Kona community as it celebrates the birthday of the wa`a, La`i`opua, with a talk story with Pwo/Master Navigator Chadd “Onohi” Paishon and Cultural Protocol Specialist Pomai Bertelmann. These two speakers will share their passion for maintaining the cultural values and customs of open ocean voyaging and navigation by the stars. Try your hand at lauhala weaving, lei and pa`i`ai making; visit with wa`a captains Rusty Oppenheimer and U`i Malakaua. Bring the `ohana, beach chairs and coolers to this outdoor gathering.
