Kailua Kalikimaka Tree Lighting
Kailua Village Business Improvement District begins the festivities on Friday, November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving, with the lighting of the Christmas tree at Emma’s Square (located across from Hulihee Palace). This tree lighting tradition gets started at 5:45 pm. Special musical guest Darlene Ahuna performs classic holiday favorites as Kumu Hula Kenneth Aloha Victor brings his award-winning Halau Kala‘akeakauikawekiu to the Christmas tree for holiday hula. Plan for a fun selfie spot with Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii. Then as dusk falls the large Christmas tree lights up and signals the start of the holiday season, welcoming everyone to Historic Kailua Village with a reminder to shop, dine and buy local.

Dinner and a Movie Night
On Saturday, December 2 bring the entire family down to Kona Commons for Dinner and a Movie Night. This family fun night starts at 5:00 pm with a free big screen showing of Moana, popcorn, free photos with Santa, Christmas caroling with Aunty Tutu and meet Moana, Pua and Heihei. Don’t forget to bring your chairs, but no coolers please.
